Crete : climate and when to go to Heraklion
Crete, south of Greece, has a Mediterranean climate. This island of 50 mi2 is very windy in comparison with Greece. When to go to the beach in Crete? Going in summer, July and August are very hot, a bit like France, but the wind calms the torrid effect. Summer evenings can be cool sometimes.
The capital of Crete Heraklion is on the shores of the Mediterranean Sea, ideal for the entertainment and its port, you will have to go away to find some beautiful sandy beaches to put your towel.

Check the precipitations because showers are possible but the sun returns quickly, otherwise other periods are possible. The coolest month is January, if you can not stand the heat too much.
