Australia : climate and when to go to Sydney

The Cairns region in northern Australia and on the edge of the Pacific Ocean, has a warm tropical climate in summerto enjoy the beaches. Avoid the beaches from November to April because of the monsoon rains. Mild temperatures occur in winter, so nights are cool.

The Sydney area , further south of Australia and on the Pacific Ocean, has a subtropical and humid climate. The winters are mild and the summers humid with a very good sunshine of 82% per year, perfect to land on the beach . In winter, temperatures range from 52°F to 62°F during the day. In the summer, humidity is present, the temperatures oscillate roughly between 79°F and 82°F, and fall to 68°F at nightfall.

When to go? The hottest month for the beach, lazing around and swimming is February. Check the precipitations because heavy showers may occur, otherwise other periods are possible. The coolest month is August, if you can not stand the heat too much. The driest month of the year is July, if you do not like the rain at all.

Weather uncertainties 2024 to go to Sydney ?

Stormy risks under tropics

Risks of tropical rains and showers
In the tropics, these « storm » or « rain » pictograms indicate that tropical showers or stormy weather are possible. It is difficult to predict the exact local weather in the tropics. This is especially true by the sea and the beach. Consider that more than 180 mm of rain per month is the limit to enjoy the beach on vacation. So check this data provided for each month on the preferred destinations of this site.

When traveling in the tropics as a seaside, rain is not welcome. If you see this indicator, with possible storms, that does not mean that it will rain all day long. When we observe the local rainfall, it is either really zero or very weak. Meteorologists prefer to be pessimistic. So observe below, the skies photographed during a week announced stormy in Asia. It did not rain once. I invite you to integrate this parameter before going to Sydney for a good trip to the sun!
