Corsica : climate and when to go to Ajaccio
This 114 miles long French region is located in the Mediterranean Sea . Its climate is like its relief, contrasted. The Corsica is divided into four climatic zones staggered from Mediterranean to Alpine 200m altitude above 1500m. The summer is dry, warm and very sunny while the winter can experience great cold on the heights.
On the Corsican coast, summer temperatures reach 86°F, sea average 75°F, ideal for relaxing at the beach for holidays; the winter is mild and it only very rarely freezes thanks to the influence of the heat of the Mediterranean waters.
Autumn is the rainy season, abundant depending on the altitude and generating important floods.
The island of beauty is particularly exposed to the winds of land and sea, generated by the difference of warming between the earth and the water. These winds naturally regulate the climate of the coastal zones by blurring both the hot summer heat and the winter frosts.

When to go? The hottest month for the beach, lazing around and swimming is August. Check the precipitations because showers are possible but the sun returns quickly, otherwise other periods are possible. The coolest month is January, if you can not stand the heat too much. The driest month of the year is July, if you do not like the rain at all.
