Madagascar : climate and when to go to Nosy be

Tropical climate along the coast, temperate inland, arid to the south. The best time for Madagascar is from April to September. Antananarivo: 61F to 77F in January and 48F to 64F in July. Nosy Be: 73F to 88F in January and 63F to 84F in July. The climate of Madagascar is subtropical (hot and humid), with a rainy season from November to March and a dry season from April to September. The southern and western regions are more arid. From December to March the monsoon winds sometimes bring cyclones on the north and east of the island. In the mountainous regions (Antananarivo) it is hot and stormy during the rainy season and dry and mild the rest of the year.

When to go? The hottest month for the beach, lazing around and swimming is January. Warning, January is a month with cyclonic risks, heavy showers may occur, otherwise other periods are possible. The coolest month is July, if you can not stand the heat too much. The driest month of the year is June, if you do not like the rain at all.

Nosy Be, MADAGASCARin the northern hemisphere in summer
Nosy Be annual sunshine

The sun at its zenith, that means well perpendicular to the surface of the Earth, sending 100% of radiation and heat. Nosy Be receives in winter (january),  98%  of sun power and  80%  during summer time (july).

The average temperature and sunshine deviations between summer and winter are 18%. This small gap means that the temperature at sea does not really vary and that the sea remains warm enough in summer and winter. The air is also hot all year round without great thermal amplitude.

Weather uncertainties 2021 to go to Nosy Be ?

Stormy risks under tropics

Risks of tropical rains and showers
In the tropics, these storm or rain pictograms indicate that tropical showers or stormy weather are possible. It is difficult to predict the exact local weather in the tropics. This is especially true by the sea and the beach. Consider that more than 180 mm of rain per month is the limit to enjoy the beach on vacation. So check this data provided for each month on the preferred destinations of this site.

When traveling in the tropics as a seaside, rain is not welcome. If you see this indicator, with possible storms, that does not mean that it will rain all day long. When we observe the local rainfall, it is either really zero or very weak. Meteorologists prefer to be pessimistic. So observe below, the skies photographed during a week announced stormy in Asia. It did not rain once. I invite you to integrate this parameter before going to Nosy Be for a good trip to the sun!
